Bio
Originally from Vermont, Jasper Scott (they/he) has been in theatre since the age of 5. He started writing plays at 15 and stage managing at 16. Since then, they have stage managed 14 productions, written four competition winning short plays and two unproduced one acts. Since 2022, they have also been working in theatre admin roles. They graduated from Boston University with a BFA in Theatre Arts in May 2023.
Philosophy
I believe the SM team is a creative resource and stage managers are just as much artists as directors, designers and actors. It is our role to facilitate, advocate, and empower. My first priority in the room is always to ensure that everyone feels they have the space and grace to explore their thoughts and ideas, even if they don’t turn out to be right for that process at that time. Stage managers are the bridge between all the parties that go into working on a production, not just logistically but emotionally. I am there to make sure that everyone's needs are understood and respected. My job is to ensure that everyone is safe and supported to create together.
